Thanks to everyone who turned out for the recent presentation night. With the way junior fixtures work, being at different locations on different days, it's not always the case that we can see each other's successes so readily as when we have our annual end of season presentation.
The junior section continues to progress and improve with some outstanding performances throughout the season from a lot of our boys and girls. We have seen eight players represent Lancashire in either the boys' or the girls' team, and we have players representing the league and district teams too.
Special Mentions
I would like to congratulate Rehan Zore for winning the Craig Heaton trophy for scoring over 300 runs in only 4 matches.
Ella Harrison for winning the Harvey Trophy and Josh Holding for being awarded Junior player of the year.
I'd like to thank the Head of Development coach, John Abrahams, for help developing the junior section with his knowledge and expertise.
For all the team managers on their hard work, time and coaching skills, all the coaches on Tuesday junior practise nights, the parents for their support and of course the boys and girls who have made such improvements over the season, thanks a lot.
2018 Plans
We have the academy set up for next year, starting in January on Friday nights and will run for 8 weeks. Invites will be sent out shortly.
Full pre-season practice sessions, for all juniors, are on Friday evenings in March, 6pm-8pm, at Spirit of Sport. We welcome all players and any new faces, but please let us know before you arrive. Also, on a side note, we will be changing our kit supplier to adidas and a kit night will be organised in January for sizes. More details will follow nearer the time.
Finally, if there are any volunteers who want to help with coaching, team management or want to help our ever-developing girls' section, we would welcome you with open arms. It's very rewarding and really fun.
Thanks for a wonderful year and we'll see you all in 2018.
Brunty
