The 2017 President's Match took place a few weeks after the close of that year's season. The match was the central point of a long weekend in September which included a beer and cider festival, and a B.C.C players' reunion night.
Taking place on the Friday night prior to the President's Match, the reunion night included the awarding of Burnley Cricket Club caps to eligible players who met the requisite performance-related statistics. For those players who are sadly no longer with us, family members were invited to collect relative's caps on their behalf.
The next day, a match was held between Burnley First XI and Michael Brown's President's XI. The latter team featured many of our ex-players who went on to play First Class cricket, including James Anderson and Michael Brown, and some other well-known names from the professional and international circuit.
